The Texas State Technical College campus in Harlingen, Texas is one of the top choices for the adult student interested in becoming a nurse assistant. The campus provides twenty-four instructional facilities where the latest equipment and modern laboratories will help prepare you to succeed in a health care career. The CNA program at Texas State Technical College encourages a variety of clinical experiences for nurse aide students by offering hands-on training not only at nursing home facilities but also at local hospitals, clinics and doctor's offices. Unlike other Texas nurse aide training courses which last for a few weeks only, the CNA program at Harlingen campus requires eight months of study. Admission takes place in the summer and fall semester. Graduates earn certificates of completion and become eligible to sit for the Certified Nurse Assistant examination.
